Goodooga Community Church

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil 1:3-5 NIV)

How it began...

In April 2022, the Come & See team from Brisbane arrived in Goodooga, NSW for the first time. We met Uncle Ike (DPG 13) and the Strahan family (DPG 14), who have been visiting and encouraging this small community for many years. We camped at the footy oval and were grateful for the facilities there, although the lack of shade became apparent when our young team members were spotted huddling under the truck out of the sun.

What happened next...

Uncle Ike and the Brewarrina folk visit the Goodooga community regularly, so the Anglican diocese offered them their old chapel, as they no longer hold services there. This began a consultation process between the missionaries serving in this area, AMT, Encounter STM and Stewards Foundation to get this renovation project underway.

Project details...

Stewards Foundation are purchasing the property with funding from the AMT Mission Grant Fund. We trust the Lord will raise handymen and tradies who are willing to camp out at Goodooga for a time to help reinstate the chapel to a functional and safe condition. All this will be in fellowship with the local missionaries and believers, and our prayer is that this fellowship and service will result in much thanksgiving and praise to the glory of God.

How can I participate?

Please pray with us for the provision of what is needed to make this property useful and a blessing and Gospel witness to the Goodooga community. Furthermore:

  • Believers moved to partner in this project financially, please send your designated gift to AMT.

  • Tradies and handymen willing to provide practical help, please coordinate with the AMT office.

  • Churches and believers willing to support the small community church, please coordinate visits with Erin Strahan (DPG Day 16).
