Colin and Marg, RAA
The country in which we live has large populations of Muslims and other minority groups. But there are still only handfuls of believers among millions. In keeping with His words, “you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8) the Lord continues to bring His people here with His message. Many of the families who come here benefit from the international school where Marg teaches. It provides quality education for their children and helps release the parents to focus on the reason they came. That’s why we see Marg’s teaching job as strategic. The school averages 80-90 children enrolled in pre-K through to high school. In addition, many of the children in pre-K and kindergarten are from local families, enabling natural engagement with the gospel, lived and spoken at school.
Our agency also has two teams in this city. Marg and I seek to encourage them and to also connect with recently arrived schoolteachers, many of whom are younger and facing their first time away from home.
We have teams in most Asia-Pacific countries. Colin’s role is to organise and help facilitate training seminars in different locations for these teams to help them be effective in long-term ministry and keep growing individually and in relationship with others.
In short, the school and the training provide support to keep people effective ‘at the coal-face’.
