15PRAYER MATTERS

WEEKLY PRAYER UPDATES

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

-  Colossians 4:2

Remember: PRAYER MATTERS

Richard and Anne Hoyt (Chad, DPG Day 1)
Pray for physical, spiritual and emotional strength for Rich and Anne, who have just returned to Chad. Pray that they will know how to pace themselves, especially in the heat of May. Pray that God will give them His wisdom and fill them with the knowledge of His will for every day. Pray that the separation from their children won’t be too hard. Pray for the Chad Church’s new leadership to work well together in bringing unity.

Phil and Sandy Jones (Mexico, DPG Day 5)
Pray for Sandy who started chemo through the social security system yesterday. Pray that side effects won’t be severe. Pray that she stays strong physically, emotionally and spiritually. Pray for Phil as he attends a conference this week. Pray for their children, especially Joshua who has been ‘acting out’ in response to Sandy’s illness. Pray for strength and perseverance for the whole family during this trying time.

Mark and Alex Ronalds (India, DPG Day 8)
Pray urgently for Alex who is on strong steroids for brain inflammation. Pray that she has complete healing with the medication and that the condition won’t worsen.

Paul and Gerrah Kulikovsky (Philippines, DPG Day 10)
Praise God for a good attendance and good opportunities to teach and encourage youth at a recent camp where Paul taught six lessons from the life of Samson. Pray that the ad hoc Christian counselling sessions with individual young people will stand them in good stead as they face the pressures of the world. Pray for Gerrah as she takes summer classes at Grace Christian School. Pray for the enrolments at GCS to pick up — pray that parents won’t leave them until the last minute. Pray for the preparation for the trial of a computer-based classroom for grade 3, which involves designing tables and installing air-conditioning.

Jason and Kim Job (Timor-Leste, DPG Day 12)
Pray for favour with the government authorities as Jason and Kim seek to finish all the paperwork to bring a second aircraft back into Timor in the next two weeks. There is a lot of red tape and Jason has been spending lots of his time visiting different departments to sort it all out. Pray for the elections here in Timor-Leste next Saturday, 12th of May. This is the second round of elections in a year because the first produced a parliament that was so divided that it could not agree on anything, and so was then dissolved. Emotions are running high at the moment, so please pray for peace, safety and wisdom in the voting process. Pray for wisdom, energy, perseverance and creativity for Kim as she home-schools Sam each day.

Darren and Meredith Lydeamore (SA, DPG Day 13)
Pray for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) for Bangladesh MAF, to support the Chief Engineer and provide training. Dareen’s team is looking for a senior LAME and an Apprentice Training Coordinator. Pray for approvals that need to be obtained for MAF to continue in Bangladesh. Pray for the new Bangladesh-bound aircraft to be imported soon for the UK. Pray for modifications to and approvals for new MAF aircraft for PNG. Pray that the Gove facility can get new maintenance approvals so that aircraft don’t have to be sent to Darwin.

John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Pray for John as he takes on the new role of Field Coordinator for ITeams Netherlands. He will have both greater responsibilities as well as greater involvement in the ministry of the teams. Pray for John as he finishes teaching a leadership course and a preaching course. Pray for Kathy as she continues to teach English and works as an English exam supervisor (till June). Pray for the family as they return for home assignment in May/June.

Wendy Strachan (Specialist, DPG Day 22)
Pray for the Leadership Experience participants (March-April, South Africa) as they start their ministry projects. Pray for Wendy as she meets with SU Northern Ireland staff and key church children’s ministry leaders this week. Pray for her to have safe travel to Budapest on 13 May, where the Global Children’s Forum will launch the ‘Children Everywhere Walking with Jesus’ toolkit. Pray for Wendy as she presents on ‘Children and the Bible’ in Ireland and Budapest.

John and Remy Tan (Specialists, DPG Day 22)
Pray for Remy as she visits the Philippines (23 May – 7 June) to attend FEBC’s 70th anniversary and to connect with family and friend
