Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

-  Colossians 4:2

Remember: PRAYER MATTERS

Fiona Thomas (Cambodia, DPG Day 7)
Praise God that Fiona wasn’t seriously hurt when her moto was hit hard in an accident. Pray that she will recover well and her moto will be repaired soon.

Steve and Roslyn Baird (Philippines, DPG Day 9)
Praise God that Jairus and his parents have been cleared to return home from Manila. Praise God that a visiting Australian team built a hygiene area and distributed health packs for the local school, and also built a plant/animal nursery for the church’s agricultural project. Praise God that the team’s ministry was a good testimony to the community and an encouragement for the church. Pray that another team will be able to help build a covered school court for a remote village.

John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Praise God the Christian Disciplines course is going well, with the students learning and growing in their understanding. Praise God that Dane has moved into a student room in The Hague, and Andre is doing an internship with a composer. Praise God that John is making good progress with the redevelopment of ITeams Netherlands’ website; pray that it can be launched soon. Pray for Kathy as she continues to support Sonia, who is struggling with her health. Pray for her husband Arjan as he looks for work. Pray for John and Kathy as they travel to Austria (15-20 November) to visit an ITeams Australia family, and then to Linz to meet another team. Pray for them to have God’s wisdom as they meet, encourage and mentor a range of people.

Kevin and Eloise Dyer (Specialists, DPG Day 19)
Praise God that Bright Hope can provide seed, fertilizer, clean water and basic food supplies to Haitians affected by the hurricanes. Praise God that in Zambia the construction of an Early Education building is nearing completion. Pray that two more can be built next year. Praise God that a greenhouse in Bolivia is providing income for poor church families to cover after-school programs for at-risk street kids.

Julie Loudon (Specialist, DPG Day 21)
Praise God for opportunities for giving updates at missionary meetings about recent travels and projects in the Philippines and DR Congo. Praise God for protecting Acira and Berocan during recent rebel violence. Pray for the security of all those living in the Ituri Forest area, and for the safety of students and teachers as they walk to and from school. Pray for Christian growth and comfort for both students and teachers as they regularly meet for Bible teaching from Acira and Manzali church members. Pray for encouragement for Way Alege in his busy schedule and many responsibilities. Internet failure and slow correspondence with his university have been challenges.

Wendy Strachan (Specialist, DPG Day 22)
Pray for the Scripture Union Global Assembly that will be held from November 10-14 in Kuala Lumpur. Pray that the Holy Spirit will be evident in all that takes place. Pray for Wendy’s specific responsibilities: the first Bible reflection (Acts 2) and the facilitation of two elective sessions on ‘Working amongst people of other faiths’ and ‘Re-imagining Evangelism and Discipleship’. On November 15, Wendy is leading a day on Children and the Bible with delegates from East South and West Asia. The Leadership Experience participants are now in the process of obtaining visas — please pray for grace on the part of embassy staff.

Russ Keanalley (Retired worker, DPG Day 26)
Praise the Lord that after three months’ suspension, construction of the new church building for the Phrasiri church recommenced last Wednesday. This followed building approval received early last week after a successful safety audit last month. Please continue to pray for a mutually satisfactory resolution with the neighbour for claims following damage to his property.

Andrew Chan (AMT, DPG Day 29)
Pray for me as I engage with the ATO and the Department of Human Services over long-running issues to do with my parents’ finances. Pray that China won’t return to the party-centred, hardline Communist attitude of yesteryear, and that there will be ongoing opportunities for the Chinese people to hear God’s Word. Pray for fewer restrictions on religious freedom in China. Pray for the strengthening of the Church and of the faith of believers.
