15PRAYER MATTERS

WEEKLY PRAYER UPDATES

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

-  Colossians 4:2

Remember: PRAYER MATTERS

Byron and Gillian Lawrence (DR Congo, DPG Day 1)
Pray for them as they help resolve conflict between Bunkeya church leadership and members. Pray that Byron and Gillian will finish their term well when they return at the end of October.

Paul and Daphne Chapman (Venezuela, DPG Day 6)
Pray for them as Daphne goes into hospital on Thursday for thyroid surgery. Pray that the operation goes smoothly and Daphne recovers quickly.

Steve and Roslyn Baird (Philippines, DPG Day 9)
Pray for Jairus’ heart surgery, which had to be postponed because he had a virus last week. Pray that all goes well if surgery proceeds this week.

David and Julie Ward (Philippines, DPG Day 11)
Praise God that the Palawanos are understanding that they are to call on Jesus for help and not their dead ancestors. Pray for David and his helpers as they translate English lessons into Palawano, and record and edit Bible lessons. Pray for David as he teaches on Sundays and teaches the new group on Fridays. Pray for the discipling and growth of the believers. Pray for Julie to travel safely in late October as she visits Australia for a month. Pray for David who will be in Menti.

David and Tina Cannon (Thailand, DPG Day 12)
Pray for Aunty Malai at Nong Gra Sor in Suphanburi, who recently fell and broke her hip. Pray for a full recovery. Pray for former neighbour Rung, whose wife Siripon recently died. Pray that he and his extended family, with whom David and Tina had previously shared the gospel, will accept Christ one day.

Doug and Faye Jones (Australia, DPG Day 13)
Praise God that that last week’s RE and Bible study went well at Burketown and Doomadgee. Pray that the AMOS team’s night program will have left a lasting impact on the Doomadgee community.

Leonie Johannesen (Fiji, DPG Day 16)
Pray for Leonie as she plans to bring her daughter to Australia over Christmas. Pray that all goes smoothly when they go to Suva this week for Grace’s visa biometrics. Praise God that someone’s stepped in for Leonie at Lomani Au while she’s away.

Craig and Sharon Vanderduys (PNG, DPG Day 18)
Pray that Emma can find a suitable school for her year 7 in 2018 when the family returns to Brisbane at the end of December. Pray that the family will finish their PNG term in a fulfilling way.

David and Ros (Restricted Access, DPG Day 24)
Pray for D, a lady who has met with Ros through the English Club, that God will open her heart to the gospel. Pray for David as he helps teams align to their respective missions. Pray for Nathan and Sarah as they start a new high school year. Praise God that their school supports them in their faith.

Pray for a suitable replacement for Kirsty Byrne, who has spent several months this year helping David and Stacie Coates at PAIS (Promise An International School) in Yangon, Myanmar
