Remember: PRAYER MATTERS
Fiona Thomas (Cambodia, DPG Day 7)
Praise God that the New Life Babycare staff are progressing in their roles. Pray for Reak Smei, a new 13-month-old infant, who has joined Babycare. Pray that her crying will continue to settle, and that the staff won’t feel drained while looking after her.
Farid and Parila Qurbanpur (QLD, Day 10)
Praise God that Parila passed her citizenship test. Pray for Farid and Philip as they sit theirs on 28 July. Praise God for positive responses to evangelistic outreaches to Muslims. Pray that seekers will continue to ask questions and read the gospel.
David and Julie Ward (Philippines, DPG Day 11)
Pray for them as they return to Menti today for three weeks. Pray for physical and spiritual protection for them and the believers living in an animistic society.
Noel and Mary Bachelor (Australia, DPG Day 13)
Praise God for a productive recording trip on Elcho Island, Arnhem Land, for Noel and Simon. Pray for them as they now edit the recordings. Pray for Mary who is recovering from skin surgery to remove a melanoma from her thigh. Pray that Mary’s hand is recovering well after tendon surgery and physiotherapy.
Daniel and Candide Weekes (France, DPG Day 14)
Pray for Tom (the camp director) whose father is critically ill. Pray for the camps which start on 8 July. Pray for spiritual and physical protection for campers and those running the camps. Pray that many people will be challenged by the gospel.
John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Praise God that their permit applications have been approved. Praise God that five fulltime students have graduated from Thousand Hills College. Praise God that Andre and Dane have successfully finished their studies for this academic year. Pray for John who’s in Germany to visit a mission team and an intern serving with them. Praise God that John and Kathy will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary on 11 July. Pray for a safe and happy time in London (10-13 July). Pray for John as he speaks at Thousand Hills on 9 and 30 July, and preaches at Alive Church in Belgium on 16 July. Pray for Brenda, one of the Alive Church pastors, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Pray for her medical team and clarity of diagnosis and treatment. Pray for Kathy and the team as they prepare for the ITeams Europe conference in August.
Noela Elvery (Specialist, DPG Day 20) and Julie Loudon (Specialist, DPG Day 21)
Noela and Julie have received news this week that 16 prisoners in an area not far from the Manzali School were killed by rebels during the weekend, and other prisoners escaped into surrounding areas. Pray for quick resolution of the unrest caused mainly as a result of political decisions as to whether planned elections will go ahead this time. Now there is tension and trouble also between tribes and not just from rebel activity. Pray for peace and love among the various language groups in Eastern Congo. Praise God for the successful recordings of PNG Pidgin programs by John Hills and Les Loader (PNG, DPG Day 17). Noela and Julie will duplicate the recordings onto discs for Desmond to distribute. Pray for Julie and Noela as they visit the Philippines on 17 July to meet with Ringo and Phoebe, who are responsible for the audio ministry while also working with Emmaus and Radio Bible Class.
Jono and Marie (Restricted Access, DPG Day 25)
Pray for local believers to share the gospel with family and friends. Praise God that Marie and the boys have travelled quite well. Continue to pray for Jono’s language learning.
