Remember: PRAYER MATTERS
Paul and Daphne Chapman (Venezuela, DPG Day 6)
Praise God for those who have been saved in Jaji. Pray that the El Vigia assembly will grow again. Pray that Paul and Daphne’s five-year residential visas will be renewed soon (expired 7 March). Pray for the dire circumstances in Venezuela, with failing infrastructure and lack of necessities (food and electricity in particular) forcing thousands to leave the country. Pray that protests won’t be violent, and that there will be fair and peaceful elections.
John and Karen Short (China/Hong Kong, DPG Day 8)
Pray for the wife of their second son who is battling breast cancer and is on chemotherapy. Pray for Karen to know the best time to visit and support the family.
Stephen and Lorraine Cavill (QLD, DPG Day 8)
Praise God for good rain out west. Pray for the teachers and children to think about what they hear during RI lessons. Pray for safe flights and for Stephen and Lorraine to have good conversations with contacts. Pray that those who have heard the gospel will commit their lives to Christ.
Paul and Debbie Howells (Philippines, DPG Day 10)
Our deepest condolences to Paul and Debbie and their family on the passing away of Paul’s mum Ellen on 8 March.
David and Cherie Snellgrove (Philippines, DPG Day 11)
Pray for three girls in Safe Haven who have been sexually abused and are awaiting the trial. Pray for them and their legal team and supporters to have God’s wisdom, strength and peace — and pray for justice to prevail. Pray for Safe Haven Community Center and Children’s home to find a suitable permanent home.
Jason and Kim Job (Timor-Leste, DPG Day 12)
Praise God for a more settled week for the Jobs at work and school — they are feeling lifted up by the prayers of God’s people! Please pray for Sam who is having regular nightmares/night terrors for the last week. Pray for Jason as he manages the team here; pray for him to make good decisions, manage the responsibilities the best he can, and be able to ‘switch off’ in the evenings to sleep well. Praise God that Jason and Kim’s co-workers are back from leave with their new baby, Eli.
Bryson and Ruth Thomas (QLD, DPG Day 12)
Praise God for prisoners whose lives have been changed by Jesus Christ. Pray that inmates will continue to be impacted by the Emmaus Bible study courses and that they will continue to ask meaningful questions, the answers to which will ultimately lead to their salvation.
Doug and Faye Jones (Australia, DPG Day 13)
Praise God for good RE and Bible studies, as well as progress in the Sunday night church service. Pray that the wet season will arrive soon.
John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Pray that the first resident of Safe Haven, a Nigerian lady, will settle in well and find the help she needs as she plans for her future. Pray for Marije and the Safe Haven team. Praise God that the leadership course is progressing well with 20 students. Pray for John as he advises and guides some of their workers regarding future options. Praise God that Kathy teaches English to four students during the week. Pray that the new ITeams NL website will be an effective tool in mission mobilisation. Pray for Andre to have clarity of thought as he writes his Masters thesis.
John and Remy Tan (Specialists, DPG Day 22)
Pray for John as he overcomes his tiredness after taking the SILA Launch course to tackle the challenges of an organisation restructure and the implementation of a new Human Resources System called Workday. Pray for Remy as she starts translating KYB English lessons into Tagalog on top of her work in Finance. She will be doing the Leader's and Student’s Guide on the book of Esther. Pray for God's wisdom and inspiration so that translation will be accurate and sound natural, clear and easy to read. Pray for John and Remy this week as they care for their neighbours’ children while their parents go on a work-related trip to Papua New Guinea.
Our deepest condolences to Kevan and Debbie Denny and their family on the passing away of Kevan’s father Ernie on 9 March.
